Easter Egg Hunt Video

I know, I have not been updating my blog as much as I should have. Work and racquetball have kept me very busy and summer all of a sudden was here. I decided to buy a better software program for video editing, Adobe Premier Elements 7, so I can do more with my video editing skills. I have also signed up for a Video Workshop and I am really looking forward to creating more videos. With that, here is a short little video of the Easter Egg Hunt party we had over at Chuck's with Bella, Ava, Lauren and the rest of the family.

Mothers Day In Austin

I went to Austin for Mother's Day, the weather was nice over the weekend. We went over to Mom and Rick's on Saturday night as Rick made some tasty hamburgers on the grill. Mom made all the sides, some good beans, avocado, and chips. Melissa brought a cake for dessert and we all were stuffed.
On Sunday we all met at the Iron Cactus for an all you can eat buffet that everyone seemed to enjoy. You had choices such as omelets or other breakfast items such as pancakes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, bacon. Or you could choose from fajitas, enchiladas, salmon, and other hot dishes. There was also plenty of desserts to choose from as well. All the Mom's opened their gifts and once again we were stuffed.
It wouldn't be right if I forgot to mention the "bottomless" Mimosa's that were a hit at our table. I think Melissa had her fair share and even got one to go....way to go sis. Enjoy the slideshow from our visit to the Iron Cactus.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM!!

Houston Rockets Playoff Game

I was in Houston last week and was lucky enough to get a ticket to the playoff game between the Houston Rockets and the Portland Trailblazers. After putting on a racquetball tournament and eating some dinner, I hopped a cab to the Toyota Center for $6 bucks and bought a ticket from someone for $45. Got the playoff shirt for only $15 and had an $8 dollar beer. Another $6 cab ride back home and my first playoff game only cost me $80. Well worth it and it didn't cost me a weeks salary.
I blogged this post directly from my iPhone using the blogger email tool. Kinda cool huh?

Easter At Chucks

Thanks to Chuck for having everyone over at his house for the family Easter dinner and Easter egg hunt for the girls. Here is a picture I took with my iPhone, looks like Melissa is more excited about the Play-Doh more than Ava. :-)

Baby Bella and The Lady Bug Bag

Aunt Nickie bought Bella some new things including a new Lady Bug Bag, Lady Bug Raincoat and some other stuff. I grabbed my camera and grabbed a quick shot of Bella playing with her bag. Check out and see what she likes just as much as the bag itself. Click the HQ button below the video to watch in High Quality. :-)

Blogging From My iPhone

Okay, so I wanted to see if blogging directly from my iPhone to my blog page would actually work. This new feature is on the Blogger page and the instructions were fairly easy to follow.
Heading back to work for a few hours and getting ready to go to Austin this weekend.

Dear Dad Book

Funny how things happen--When my Dad passed away this past year in October, my sister Nickie bought me a book for Christmas, (the one above) Dear Dad: Father, Friend Hero by Bradley Trevor Greive. I flipped through the pages and tossed it into my backpack to read at another time.
The book stayed in my backpack for several months and just when I think I would have some time to get it out and read it, something would happen and I would never get to read the book.
Well today, I came home after playing some racquetball and tossed my backpack off my shoulder and the Dear Dad book popped out of the bag and landed on the floor in front of me. I figured it was time for me to read the book.
The author, Bradley Trevor Greive is from Australia and has written several books, including one entitled Dear Mom. I enjoyed the pictures, all of animals with their babies or shown to be feeding or raising their young ones, and the short expressions that only a father-son can communicate in their own way. Bradley wrote some very true words that made alot of sense.
Of course the book reminded me of many great memories between my Dad and I growing up. I never realized how much my Mom and Dad's life changed once I was born and then my brothers and sisters followed.
I understand now that I was being raised in the shadow of my father's greatness and wisdom as he guided me through childhood. I wonder if my Dad will ever know how grateful I am for all he did, I hope he was as proud of me as I was of him.My Dad, my friend, my hero, my father.
I love you Dad.

p.s. thanks for the book Nickie :-)

Lauren's Makeover & Shopping

Mom, Melissa and Lauren made a visit to Nickie's this past weekend and shopping was about all they did the whole time. Melissa was on a purse buying spree as all the boys tagged along (Josh, Alec, and Austin) except for Lauren who was treated to a makeover at Sweet and Sassy's for kids. Trey stayed with Lauren at the salon as her "official bodyguard." This is Lauren before she had her 1:00pm appointment and below is a photo I took when she was getting her hair done by the stylist. Mom took us all to lunch and then back for more shopping, actually back to the same store Melissa just left before having to go pick-up Lauren.

We headed over to the Stonebriar mall and then more shopping before the kids got a ride on the carousel inside the mall.

Baby Bella At A Birthday

Push the play button to watch.

I talked my brother Mike into hacking into his iPhone so he could do some cool things such as video, which normally does not work on the iPhone. Now he can stream live video and even post it to the internet for the family to see. Here is a short clip of Baby Bella at a friends birthday party. Now I just need Melissa to try the same thing and use it for Ava and Lauren so we can see the girls do some funny stuff.

iPhone Case Review

This is a short video I made for a new case I bought for my iPhone. I don't know how I made it so long without my iPhone but I really like it. The case is an SGP Ultra Thin and looks great. I also just added a cool background skin on my dial pad of Tiger Woods. (I hacked my iphone to do a bunch of really cool things with it.)Hope you enjoy the video.

My New Car Mats

New Car Mats
I went to wash my car today and figured it was time to show off my new car mats that Nickie got me for Christmas. Aren't they cool? I love the Dallas Cowboys and these mats are sweet. Thanks Nickie!!
I will be leaving for Tempe, AZ on Tuesday for the 2009 USA Racquetball National Doubles Championships. The event runs from Feb.11-15 at the Student Rec Center on the campus of Arizona State University. I will be playing in the tournament in the Men's A and Men's 35+A divisions, and I am also in charge of media coverage for the event which includes providing updates and photos. Here is a sample of a photo collage I made.

Mike's Big 40 Celebration

Mike and Mom
Well, the big 40 finally came for my brother Mike. We had a nice birthday party for him and all the family and his friends downtown in Austin at a really cool place--J. Black's Feel Good Lounge.
We decorated the inside, ate lots of food and enjoyed some good refreshments. It was fun seeing all of Mike's old friends, Roger, Brandon, Todd, Mike, and some of his co-workers. Everyone else from the family was there hanging out and having a good time.
The pictures were difficult to take since the lighting inside was so low, but I salvaged a few, enjoy...and Happy Birthday Mike.

Hello 2009

My Dad's Burial Site
Well, I hope that 2009 is better for me than 2008. Losing my Dad has been very difficult and hard to deal with. I think about him everyday, all the time. I think I had an anxiety attack as everything just hit me all at once like a ton of bricks. Luckily I had Lory there to help me, follow me to the hospital and stay with me for the next few days.
I have tried to stay busy with work and preparing for all my racquetball events for 2009. I will be going to Austin this weeknd for Mike's birthday and also for the Longhorn Open Racquetball Tournament. My doubles partner Eddie injured his shoulder so no doubles for us. I am thinking about buying a new digital camera so I can post some great quality pictures. It always feels good to buy a new toy.

2008 Year In Review

Wow, I can't believe 2008 is already gone and here we are in 2009. I bought my Flip Video in August and have had fun with it since day one. Here are some of my favorite clips from some of the videos I shot while traveling for racquetball or with family. I hope you all enjoy it and leave me a comment if you like.
